| The Highlands is Denver’s largest neighborhood covering 250 acres of the city’s Northwest and has recently undergone amazing changes making it one of the trendiest nightlife and art districts in the Mile High City. There are three pedestrian bridges that connect the many districts in downtown Denver. The REI Flagship store is located in between the South Platte River and I-25, which features a 40-foot high indoor rock climbing wall as well as a mountain bike test course. Nearby, you can rent a kayak from Confluence Kayaks and try it out on the South Platte River and on summer evenings you can gather on the grassy knoll above the river for free concerts and movies. If kayaking isn’t your thing, you can always walk along 15th Street where you can shop at trendy boutiques such as Mona Lucero or have a drink at swanky martini bars like Forest Room 5.
